Meijer: Updates and Shopping Report

  • DANNON REBATE
If you plan on stocking up on $0.05 Dannon Yogurt Cups this week, be sure to save your receipts and submit them for the Dannonomics Rebate. If you spend $15 in Dannon, you can get $3 in coupon by mail; spend $20, get $6 in coupons; spend $40, get $15 in coupons. Read the details and download a form here.

  • 40% OFF BACKPACKS THIS WEEK
The current sale on backpacks at Meijer means that it's a great week to take advantage of the offer: $10 off a backpack when you purchase $10 in Kellogg's, Keebler, Eggo and Sunshine products! It's a great way to maximize your savings! Many charities are looking for backpack and school supply donations as the school year approaches.

  • LYSOL NEUTRA AIR TWIN PACKS
Lysol Neutra Air Aerosol 10 oz cans are on sale for $1.50 this week and FREE after the $1.50 coupon. Look for "Buy One Get One FREE" cans in specially wrapped plastic packages to double your savings!

  • MY MEIJER SHOPPING REPORT
Many people who are new to couponing tend to doubt that we can actually save an average of 75% on our groceries. I wanted to share two transactions today to validate the possibility. Remember that we've been hard-core couponers for a while. We purchase multiple papers and have a stockpile of items that we've purchased free or cheap to choose from at home. We were able to stock up on fruit snacks, which we were running out of, as well as take advantage of the free backpack deal. I shopped at the Meijer in Washington Township, MI (we were in the neighborhood and the prices are lower there for 1/2 price items!) You can find the exact coupons I used listed in the Meijer Matchups for this week.

    TRANSACTION #1:
    5 - Betty Crocker Fruit Shapes ($7.50)
1- Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers ($0.94)
    2 - Mt. Olive Pickles ($3.98)
    2 - AirWick Scented Oil I-Motion Kits ($5.98)
2 - AirWick Fresh Matic Ultra Spray Kits ($12.48)
4 - Lysol Neutra Air Spray ($6.00 - and these were twin packs = 8 cans total)
    2 - Kraft Marshmallows ($2.00)
    2 - Kraft Easy Mac Cups ($2.00)
TOTAL SPENT (after coupons): $10.37 after coupons (plus earned another $3.50 toward my next order with purchase of Fruit Shapes)
    SAVED: $61.89 (86%)

    TRANSACTION #2:
    5 - Betty Crocker Fruit Shapes ($7.50)
    1 - AirWick Kit Scented Oil I-Motion Kit ($2.99)
1 - AirWick Fresh Matic Ultra Spray Kit ($6.24)
    2 - Kraft Easy Mac Cups ($2.00)
    3 - Fudge Shoppe Cookies ($4.11)
    2 - Keebler Frosted Animal Cookies ($2.96)
    2 - Kellogg's Bite Size Mini Wheats ($3.98)
    1 - Backpack ($7.79, reg $12.99)
TOTAL SPENT (after coupons): $7.24 (I used/"rolled" that $3.50 checkout coupon on this transaction and earned another $3.50 checkout coupon for next time).
    SAVED: $55.57 (88.5%)

    YOUR TURN
I'd LOVE to see what you purchased and how you did at Meijer this week! Would anyone like to share? :)

  1. *applause* Good job! Would love to see your stockpile sometime!

Out of curiosity, what papers do you purchase and how many?

  2. What coupons did you use? Did you do self check out or cashier check out.

  3. I went to Meijer today in Lapeer (dropped the baby at my parent's house so I could shop alone, YEAH!) Anyway, the Meijer there had Burt's Bees chapstick on clearance for $1.49! They are usually $2.99. PLUS, I pulled out my $1 off 2 coupon so I got 2 for $1.98! YES!!!! We are avid Burt's Bee's users here, so I was pretty pumped for life! :)

  4. I live in Grand Rapids and in our Entertainment books there is a coupon for a $5 off Meijer groceries on your next purchase when you spend $50. It has not been a problem to use it this month. Just be sure it's the first coupon to be scanned.

  6. To the Anonymouses :)

    1. We buy the Detroit News/Free Press. We have one subscription and usually buy up to 4-5 extra, depending on whether the coupons are good that week.
    2. Today, my husband and I each did one transaction with a cashier. If our order is small, we'll use the U-scan.
    3. You'll find the coupons I used in the Meijer matchup for this week (see right sidebar), with the exception of some $1.00/1 Keebler Fudge Shoppe printables that are no longer available. (That's why I always encourage you to print coupons while they're available - you never know when you might be able to put them to good use!)

  7. This was my transaction today

    4lbs banana's
2 packs of D'animal drink yogurts
4 packs of Jim Morell Honey Ham
    10 Kraft Easy Mac cups
    1 bag mini carrots
    1 2 liter 7-up
    5 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks
    4 Mt Oliver Pickes
    1 Lysol
5 2.5 oz packages of Bumble Bee Tuna
    1 loaf Meijer bread
I saved 68%, paid 21.31 out of pocket and got a 3.50 coupon for an OYNO (on your next order). Not my best work but not too bad as I bought extra stuff that was cheap now so that when it comes time for hair cuts and shoes I won't have to shop that week :)

  8. The Entertainment book coupons are nice, but it's extremely rare that I could reach $50 in one transaction, even before coupons! ;)

  9. Did anybody have trouble using the printable betty crocker fruit shapes 40/1? Mine wouldn't scan at the U-Scan.

Saved 65% Would've done better but they were out of Lysol wipes, my coupons from ecoupons haven't come in the mail yet for Hormel meals, and I didn't get the Malt o Meal cereal free since my coupons didn't match. I printed more off and will be hitting up another less populated Meijer's later today so hopefully that trip will save me more like 80%. My high score thus far is 68% so I'm trying to beat it!
