Restaurant.com certificates make great gifts - and they're a great way to save a little money on eating out, but please read all of the restrictions and fine print carefully. Many certificates will work more like a coupon (and some require minimum totals and beverage purchases).

Offer Terms and Conditions: The code for your FREE $10 Gift Certificate will be emailed to you within 24 hours. Please note the FREE $10 offer is not valid on Dinner of the Month purchases. This offer is 80% off the retail value of Restaurant.com Gift Certificates. The majority of $25 certificates are available for a $10 retail price. In some instances, prices may be higher. Limit of one (1) $25 certificate per visit to a restaurant. Offer valid from Saturday, December 26, 5:00AM PST thru Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:59PM PST.

  1. We use them and love them. I bought a bunch of them for different places, and the food quality has been hit-or-miss for us. We found a dive Coney Island right by us that turned out to be pretty nice inside and has good food. Likewise there was another place that looked nice, but had horrible food. At least we didn't pay full price for the bad food.

I did buy a few certificates for a place that went out of business and they emailed me to let me know and to pick new gift certificates out. It was really easy and I've never had a problem with their customer service.

For that matter, I have never had an issue at all using these gift certificates, as long as you follow the rules printed on each one. I plan on buying more of them.

  2. I've used these twice now and really like them as well. I go to restaurants mostly that I have already been too and paid full price or ones that others recommend.

Hip2save posted something about the dinner of the month club, you can do 3 months, 6 months, or a year and if you do a year you get a free $50 gift certificate. So with this 90% off deal AND cashbaq I think I'm going to try that this time and save some major bucks on 12 at one time!

  3. For the dinner of the month club do you have to pick which establishments all at once, or do you pick them monthly?

  4. Christy, for the Dinner of the Month Club -
The recipient gets to choose a different $25 certificate each month, for the length of the gift. The restaurant choices can vary from month to month and the best ones disappear early in the month - with Dinner of the Month club, you'll get first pick at the best possible price!

  5. If I am planning on getting this for parents that are snow birds and leave Michigan for a 2/3 month period can they change the zip code during those months?

  6. Christy, from what I can tell, it's not zipcode specific. Each time, you should be able to enter the zip code of choice. There's more info here (or you can always email them specifically about it): http://www.theidealmeal.com/index_dom.asp

  7. I definitely know of people who have used them while on vacation but I'm not sure if that was with the dinner of the month club.
