Recipes: Great Ways to Use Cream Cheese!

Since you can buy Philadelphia Cream Cheese as low as $0.24 this week at Meijer (when you buy 5!), I thought it might be handy to have some good recipes up your sleeve!

First, here's one of our family favorites - 3 ingredients make it easy, plus it's freezer-friendly!

Oreo Truffles
You can find Vanilla Candy coating at ALDI for around $1.90. Use Mint Oreo Cookies or chocolate coating for a great twist! Warning: these are addicting!

I asked our resident Target matchup expert, Stacey, to share some of her favorite recipes as well. (She makes a mean cheesecake and she knows what she's talking about!)

Fruit Dip
8 oz. cream cheese
1 jar marshmallow creme
1 Tbsp. orange juice
Mix until fluffy & serve with fruit or pound cake.

Philadelphia 3-Step Raspberry Cheesecake
This is one of our favorites... we'll be making at least one for Christmas Eve.
We've used all different flavors of jam, since we always have something fresh lying around!

Chocolate Lover's Cheesecake
This one is great to combine with the Oak Ridge Keebler Crust & Meijer Baker's Chocolate sales...top it with piped Cool Whip and mini chocolate chips for a gourmet look!

Family Favorite Cheesecake
I'll be making a couple more involved recipes for Christmas Eve/Day desserts too,
like this one (more complex, but well worth it!)

Orange Spritz Cookie
And our standby spritz cookie, this is one of our favorites!
My note: if you don't have a cookie press, try looking after Christmas at Target.
The Wilton brand makes a holiday-boxed cookie press for around $10
(only $5 after Christmas)! You can also find a cookie press here.

And what about YOU?
Do you have some great cream cheese recipes up your sleeve?
PLEASE share! :)

  1. One of my easy and super yummy cream cheese recipes is for a hearty dip!

Soften one block of cream cheese in the bottom of a microwave safe dish. Pour the contents of a can of turkey chili without beans on top, and sprinkle a thin layer of cheddar cheese on top.

Microwave the dip for about two minutes(covered with a paper towel) or until the dip is thoroughly heated. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!!!

    Great recipes!!!

  2. Laura, we make that chili-cheese dip, too, but we've always warmed it in the oven for 15 minutes! :) Haven't had it for a while...sounds good now!

  3. My favorite appetizer is a warm cheese dip. This is unbelievably easy and always gets rave reviews...

    1 block of cream cheese
16 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    16 oz carton sour cream
    1 jar real bacon bits

Mix and bake until bubbly and golden brown for 30 minutes at 350*

    Serve with Frito scoops

  4. We LOVe to add it to mashed potatoes! Throw in a few ounces of cream cheese with a little butter and Lawry's seasoning salt - YUMMY!! Not the healthiest, but certainly delicious!

  5. I have several!

I love making alfredo sauce with it... melt one bar, plus a couple tbsp of milk, some parm cheese, pepper, and garlic powder in a saucepan. I like to whisk mine to thicken quicker.

Another is chip dip... cream chese softened, a dash of milk, chopped onion and garlic powder. Mix with a fork to help mash for thicker dip. Or, use a mixer and add a little more milk for a creamier dip. YUM!

Buffalo Chicken Dip: Cream cheese, canned chicken, ranch dressing, Franks red hot, and shredded cheddar all warmed in a pan, then add to a crock pot to keep as a warm dip.

... I could go on for DAYS. I love me some cream cheese!
