VG's: December 7-13, 2009

Exciting news! If you shop the Burton, Caro, Clio, Davison, Fenton, Genessee, Howell, North Fenton, Owosso, Waterford or West Flint locations, VG's is now advertising DOUBLE MANUFACTURER'S COUPONS up to $1.00! You'll need to get additional details in the store (I'm secretly hoping this idea will migrate south to Macomb area stores!) If those of you in VG's super-double land have any good deals with $1 double coupons to share, please comment on this post!

Yes, that leaves only 5 locations (Brighton, Marine City, Pontiac, Shelby Twp and Sterling Heights) that still double coupons up to $0.50. I'm not sure that we've got a chance at $1 doubles, since area competing stores don't offer it, either. But we can always hope - and contacting VG's with a gentle plea can't hurt, either!

Did you know? VG's offers a $0.05 reusable bag credit per bag you bring. You may have to remind your cashier, however, as the credit is not automatic.

Shopping with Kids? Stop by the customer service desk and sign them up for the Zoo Crew Kids' Club. They'll receive special treats, including a cookie from the bakery when they visit!

Save your receipts - as part of VG's Community Share Program, they can benefit non-profit groups in Michigan. You don't need to sign up; simply find a group collecting receipts and turn yours in to them. Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica (45160 Van Dyke at Hall Rd) collects VG's receipts to purchase socks for the homeless. You can leave your receipts at the front desk there if you can't find another participating group.

VG's Extra Edition can be found near the ads at the front door. This small, black & white 4-page ad features additional savings for the week.

Visit the Meat Department and hunt for the yellow rectangular markdown tags. VG's routinely offers 50% off soon-to-expire meat; most packages are amazing cuts of meat with no sign of aging and won't expire for 2 more days, which allows plenty of time for cooking or freezing.

  1. My friend and I had trouble with the OJ Qs today not doubling. I had to have mine adjusted at Customer Survice. I got home and looked at one of my OJ Qs and low and behold, the barcode starts with a 9. Doesn't say DND or anything on it, just a sneaky little coupon.
