Review: Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus (and ticket discount)

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey’s Over the Top Circus is now in Metro Detroit! My family and I had the pleasure of attending the opening night show this week, and we were well-entertained!

The circus truly does put on a show for the entire family - music, humor, and amazing feats! My son giggled uncontrollably at the antics of the clowns. My daughter, who was at first terrified of the clowns (we weren't entirely sure how the circus would work out for her), was soon begging for more each time the action slowed. There were plenty of classic circus acts - trapeze artists and acrobats, elephants and tigers, clowns and prancing horses - yet there were still plenty of surprises and new tricks to keep us interested. For example, I didn't think it was a great idea (or possible!) to put 4 motorcycles in a small metal sphere, but they amazed us by racing SEVEN motorcycles inside of it!

There's still time to catch "The Greatest Show on Earth" at The Palace in Auburn Hills on:
  • Saturday, November 21 at 11:30 am, 3:30 pm or 7:30 pm

  • Sunday, November 22 at 1:00 pm or 5:00 pm

Don't forget to use the special coupon code when you purchase tickets from Ticketmaster; simply enter the code MOM in the “MC promotion” box to get four tickets for $44 (for ALL performances)! A minimum purchase of 4 tickets is required; additional tickets can be purchased at $11 each. Offer not valid on Circus Celebrity, Front Row, or VIP seating. Cannot be combined with other offers. Service Charges, facility & handling fees will apply.

You'll want to arrive a little early to check out the All Access Preshow, which begins one hour before showtime. It will give you a chance to head down to the circus floor to meet the performers, get autographs, try on costumes, and clown around! This extra is free for all ticket holders!

Check out these great circus reviews from my friends (with even better pictures):

Disclosure: Feld Entertainment offered complimentary tickets so my family and I could enjoy and review the show. Though the tickets were free, the opinions in this post are all mine and I was not compensated for them.

  1. We went to the circus on Friday too. I forgot my camera - and would LOVE to have a picture to post on our private family blog. Any chance I can copy yours?
